Dig in! Garden invites visitors to pick their own lunch

22 April 2016 0 Comments
  • Picking plants is usually forbidden at the Royal Horticultural Society’s most famous garden, but visitors will be encouraged to help themselves in a giant new vegetable patch.

The charity is planning the first “global edible garden” at Wisley in Surrey, where visitors will be able to select exotic and unusual plants from around the world and have them cooked on the spot for their lunch.

The garden will be the size of a football pitch and contain hundreds of types of fruit and vegetables from all parts of the world.
